Turn Off Automatic Brightness
You love to have colorful and bright screen but these are the root enemies of the phone.  Display consumes the half of the battery life. Maximum phones to today’s generation include an auto- brightness feature which manages the brightness of the phone according to the environment. And this feature consumes the battery life.
To disable this feature, go to Settings >> Display >> Turn off auto-brightness
If you don’t want this, you can decrease the brightness of screen to the lowest.

Turn Off Automatic WIFI
Turning off your WIFI when not in used can save your battery life. Turn off your Wi-Fi when you are not using it and when you go out your office or home.  When you don’t turn off your Wi-Fi, it continuously   search for the Wi-Fi networks to connect which drains your battery.
To do this, go to Settings >> WIFI >> Turn Off Wi-Fi

Turn Off Bluetooth

To do this, go to Settings >> Bluetooth >> Turn Off Bluetooth

Manage Background Apps
Like in PCs and Laptops, multitasking is now available in mobile phones too. It makes our work easy and fast but it also uses more energy at the same time. By removing the background apps, you not only save energy but also control your CPU usage.
To remove background apps, click on the multi-tasking button (usually the right most of the three button on the bottom of the screen) and you can swipe away apps to clear them.

Turn Off Location Service when not in use

To do this, go to Settings >> Location >> Turn it off (when not in used)

Enable Power Saving Modes
Every mobile comes with the ‘Power Saving Mode’ feature.  This feature reduces the background processes, dims [phone brightness, disable sounds of dial pad, etc. after the battery level of phone drops to the certain limit, then this feature is automatically turned on. Turning this on increases your battery life.
To do this, go to Settings >> Battery >> Turn On Power Saving Mode.

Disabling Unnecessary Notifications
